Weddings at the Railway Barracks

The neighbouring hall has a wholly refurbished, spacious, state-of-the-art kitchen boasting, 2 stoves, microwave, fridges, freezer and plenty of room for caterers to spread their culinary wings. Our modern amenities provide convenience and comfort.

The hall itself boasts reverse-cycle air conditioning, LED coloured strip lights and dimmable lighting to ensure the perfect atmosphere. In the colder months, warm your fingers and toes next to the fireplace.

There are tables and chairs, crockery, glasses and cutlery to accommodate 50, plus an additional dining room which can comfortably hold a further 36 guests. 

Recent additions to the long list of inclusions is an Apple TV and a ceiling-mounted projector and drop-down screen – perfect for slideshows or other digital presentations. Our SONOS speaker system plays high-quality surround-sound music, easily controlled from your phone or iPad.

The building is surrounded by a wooden deck which leads to a beautifully restored gazebo which lights up at night. The hall sits in extensive gardens, all of which is lovingly maintained. Such attractive grounds make the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony.

When you hire the Railway Barracks you will have exclusive use of the entire property, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, hall, dining room, deck and gardens.

Accommodation can be up to 44 people in a combination of bunk, twin and double rooms. Bed linen and towels are available.

Located approximately 1 hour from Canberra, or 2 hours from Sydney, this venue sits comfortably in the rural Southern Tablelands of NSW in Goulburn - a proud historic town thriving with museums, festivals, restaurants and galleries.
